Job Description
Job Summary
The Switcher safely moves trailers to and from the warehouse dock to yard locations in a timely and professional manner with daily reports. Become part of our legacy, because at NRS you are not a number on a list but a valued member of a family-oriented, driver-focused, logistics company!
We are hiring switchers for all shifts including multiple start times available, please see below:
1st shift ($22/hr.):
Start: 8:00 a.m.
2nd shift ($22/hr.):
Start: 2:00 p.m.
3rd shift ($24/hr.):
Start: 12:00 a.m.

Requirements
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Minimum of 1 year Class A driving experience (or equivalent military driving experience)
Clean driving record (MVR, PSP, and employment history)
Ability to read, write, and speak English in compliance with DOT regulations
Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical qualifications
Current DOT physical certification
Knowledge of transportation and logistics operations
Strong safety awareness and ability to operate vehicles in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and teamwork skills
High attention to detail with commitment to following safety procedures
Physical stamina to sit for extended periods and operate equipment safely
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Physical Demands:
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and feet to operate vehicles, adjust controls, and manage equipment.
Heavy Lifting: Occasional lifting, carrying, and securing of cargo, which may exceed 50 pounds.
Navigation and Attention: Continuous focus on driving and navigation, requiring high levels of concentration and situational awareness.
Variable Work Hours: Potential for irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.
Exposure to Weather: Work involves exposure to various weather conditions during loading and unloading operations.
Climbing and Balancing: Climbing into and out of the truck cab and trailer, as well as balancing to secure cargo.
Health and Safety Compliance: Adherence to safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.
